Our warm and sunny house near Phinney Ridge and Green Lake is perfect for families and other travelers looking for convenient access to downtown while staying in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. The house has views of Mt. Rainier and the Cascades, and two decks that take advantage of those views. The three-level home is ideal for giving everyone enough space to spread out.
The house is a remodeled craftsman cottage at the bottom of Phinney Ridge, surrounded by a lush garden in the summer. We are within a few minutes walking distance of Green Lake and the tennis courts, pool, and jogging paths on its shores. We are also within a few blocks of the shops and restaurants on Greenwood Ave. While convenient to SR-99/Aurora for a fast commute downtown (10-15 min), the house is on a quiet and peaceful street, full of charming old houses and friendly neighbors. The bus stop for RapidRide into downtown is around the corner.
The house is a beautiful craftsman on the outside, but has been renovated on the inside to loft the roof and to allow in tons of light. The main floor includes an open living/dining room space (table seats 6), a recently remodeled kitchen, a bathroom, a home office, and access to the main deck and garden. The upper level includes the master bedroom, as well as a second bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The bedroom has amazing views of Mt. Rainier on a clear day. If you can't get enough of the view from bed, a ladder inside the bedroom leads to the enclosed roof deck (seasonal access), from which you can see more of the mountain, as well as the lake and downtown Seattle. Finally, the lower level features another bedroom, a second living room/movie-watching space, laundry, and access to the driveway.
If you have more than 4 guests, we can set up the office on the main level as a third bedroom. We have a queen airbed that includes a supportive foam topper–it's very comfortable! Just let us know.
Guests will have access to the entire house while we are gone, though many closets and storage spaces will be full. Help yourself to parsley and other herbs growing in the yard. Our garden is also bursting with tomatoes, lettuce, blueberries, and dozens of other crops, depending on the season. If we're around when you arrive, we're happy to give you a tour and point out what's edible.

Please note the following:
*The spiral staircase and roof ladder are not small child-friendly, though adults and teenagers seem to love them.
*This is our primary residence, so some closets and storage spaces will be closed to guests.
* We do have a long-haired dog, and while the house will be cleaned of hair before you arrive, please don't book it you have severe allergies.
*Absolutely no smoking, even on the decks.
*We welcome small, quiet dogs, but the backyard isn’t suitable for large dogs who need space to run. We also ask that you do not leave dogs unattended in the house, and do your best to keep them off the furniture.
