Our home is in Takoma Park/MD on the DC line, a super close-in suburb of our Capitol City—an easy/fun 20-minute walk to the Metro or a 45-minute bike ride to the White House. After a day in DC, our home is the perfect place to unwind. Please read our reviews!
Surrounded by nature, we have 5 outdoor spaces to relax. Help yourself to some herbs from the kitchen herb garden ( in season), take a steam bath after a great workout, or relax in the screened-in porch or deck overlooking the pond.
The backyard pond is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped backyard full of native plants.
Please note that this is a very vertical house too, with quite a few stairs. Your legs will get a nice workout! You enter the house on the 2nd floor.
Cook fabulous meals in our state-of-the-art kitchen with an induction cooktop and built-in microwave and wall oven.
The house is heated and cooled with 5 mini-split units to control the temperature wherever you are. In addition, there’s a cozy pellet stove in the living room and radiant heat in the floors on the lower level. Plus the radiant ceiling heaters that keep the screened-in porch toasty in the shoulder seasons.
There are loads of outdoor spaces including the screened-in porch, two decks, and the kitchen garden just off the dining room. Cooking on the Weber Performer grill off the screened-in porch is easy and convenient
The master bedroom, on the third floor in the rear of the house, has huge windows, with light filtering shades, overlooks the pond and backyard. It’s super quiet. Note that there is no TV in the MBR. But there is one in the office/library on this level. The master bath with a rain shower is on this level as well.
On the lower level, there are two bedrooms with a shared bath and laundry. One of these bedrooms also serves as an exercise room with weights, a weight bench, a yoga mat, and an Ergatta Water Rower. A sliding door opens up to a covered deck (with a treadmill!) and the backyard with a pond.
The other bedroom on this level has an American Leather super comfortable sofa bed (the most comfortable sofa bed around) and surround sound TV. Sliding doors open to a zen garden, pond, and backyard.
No smoking of any substances or parties on the premises. And please help us keep the house clean and do not wear your shoes in the house.
We have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth-enabled speakers, an EV charger, and on-site parking for one car. There is ample street parking for a second car.
